Aaron Brader

Statement From The Artist

I was really upset about the ancient forests of the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state being overly logged back in 1996. It inspired me to draw this mandala with colored pencils. I was recently graduated from Port Townsend High School and had hoped to start a non-profit called, The Mandala Foundation, which would have had an aim of selling art to help preserve ancient forest lands. I had a deep and traumatic tragedy happen soon after, which stopped me in my tracks with that plan, but the piece and sentiment still exist.

The original piece is 36" x 36 and is titled, "A Mandala for the Trees."
